TV COMMERCIAL

This is the Ghostbusters' commercial that appears in the film, as written in the script. As filmed, the parts with the family were eliminated (though some of the dialog was repurposed for the Ghostbusters II commercial), just leaving Peter, Ray, and Egon to give their spiel in front of the firehouse. As you can read, originally the lines were said by different members of the team. As seen in the outtakes, Janine was originally going to appear in the commercial, but not in the manner the script describes.

The full television commercial (as filmed, but without the on-screen graphics), along with five minutes of outtakes, can be found on the 2019 Ghostbusters 1 & 2 4K/Blu-ray set. Both videos have also been uploaded to the official Ghostbusters YouTube channel (embedded below), but the top and bottom of the videos were cut off to change it from a 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio. The full commercial (again, without the on-screen graphics) also appears in the PlayStation 3 version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game. TV SCREEN
INT. CHILDREN'S BEDROOM -- NIGHT

Two children, a BOY and a GIRL, are asleep in bed when suddenly they are awakened by supernatural moaning and groaning.

THE CHILDREN

They scream and jump out of bed.

THE DOOR

Their MOTHER and FATHER, rush in to find the children cowering against the wall.

They point at the closet.

The mother and the kids look at him with disappointment.

Stantz steps into the foreground.

EXT. FIREHALL

Venkman, Stantz and Spengler are standing in front of the Ghostbusters' sign. Spengler steps forward.

INT. RECEPTION AREA

Janine is seen answering the telephone with a big fake smile on her face.

INT. CHILDREN'S BEDROOM

Spengler is taking PKE readings along the baseboards. Stantz pops up from under the bed.

FATHER, MOTHER AND VENKMAN

They all look as pleased as punch as Venkman hands the Father a bill.

EXT. FRONT DOOR

Mother, Father and Kids wave goodbye to the Ghostbusters.

VENKMAN, STANTZ AND SPENGLER

They smile at the camera as a phone number is supered on the screen.
