Neca $9.99 Gamer and Sci-Fi & Horror Blind Bag Unboxing Review #4 (Third 100% Duplicate Bag)
By Paul Rudoff on Feb. 6, 2021 at 7:38 PM in Mystery/Blind Bags

I reviewed several of Neca's themed blind bags in the past. After what happened the last time - getting many duplicate items - I said that I probably wouldn't buy any more. Well, I bought two more, and now I definitely won't buy any more. Read on to find out why...
If you haven't read any of my previous reviews of Neca's themed blind bags, here's the down and dirty lowdown on them: For $10, you get four leftovers from Loot Crate mystery boxes from years past, usually without the original packaging. Sometimes the items are randomly placed in the bags, and sometimes there's a specific set of items in the bag. This time, Target had two other bags: one more Gamer, and one Pop Culture. The Gamer bag felt like a duplicate of this one, and the Pop Culture bag was the one I left last week because it felt like a duplicate of the Harry Potter bag I bought at that time.
The Gamer bag contains:
• Sonic The Hedgehog "Sonic and Rings" Mini Statue
• Cute But Deadly Magnet Sheet
• Bioshock Infinite Key Blank
• Gears of War 4 Lancer Assault Rifle Pin
Alright, four unique items. No duplicates. That's very welcomed.
Sonic The Hedgehog "Sonic and Rings" Mini Statue - This "adult collectible" is from Loot Crate's March 2018 "Playback" box, though you wouldn't know that from the item as there is no copyright date on it. Since the box is not included, I had to learn about the item from Amazon. Fully assembled on its base, it's roughly 5" long x 2" wide x 4" tall. It's really cool, and I'm happy to have gotten it in this blind bag.
Cute But Deadly Magnet Sheet - A 5.75"x7" sheet of 11 magnets featuring "Blizzard Entertainment's most memorable villains including Kerrigan, Arthas, and Diablo" was released in Loot Crate's November 2015 "Combat" box. It certainly is cute, even though I'm completely unfamiliar with the characters.
Bioshock Infinite Key Blank - Manufactured by The Coop, and released in Loot Crate's June 2016 "Dystopia" box, this "KW1/66" blank key features a bird on one side and an empty birdcage on the reverse. I've never played very far in my PlayStation 3 copy of Bioshock Infinite, so I don't understand what the bird and birdcage is in reference to. I already have a Phineas & Ferb house key, so I don't really need this. It'll go up on eBay to join the many others that are currently up there.
Gears of War 4 Lancer Assault Rifle Pin - This small 2" brass-looking lapel pin depicts the famous Lancer weapon from the Xbox One video game by Microsoft. Made in 2018 for Loot Crate.
This was only the second Gamer bag that I've purchased and, honestly, I liked it better than the first one.

The Sci-Fi and Horror bag contains:
• HYP The Lord of the Rings Aragorn & Boromir Crew Socks
• HYP The Lord of the Rings Pippin & Merry Crew Socks
• Buffy The Vampire Slayer Sunnydale Pennant
• Farscape "My Other Ride is a Leviathan" Bumper Sticker
Well, I knew the good vibes I got from the Gamer bag wouldn't last. This entire bag is a 100% duplicate of a Sci-Fi and Horror bag I bought last week! That's $10 down the drain... or $30 when you consider that this is now the THIRD 100% duplicate bag I've purchased over the past year.
The only positive is that adding these two duplicate pairs of Lord of the Rings socks to the other two duplicate pairs I got last week, I now have a complete set of four pairs for sale on eBay. Yeah, all of these bags gave me two complete sets, and I only need to keep one set for myself. I also put all of the other stuff I don't want up on eBay, too. After getting so many duplicate items and 100% duplicate bags, I'm done. If you buy any of these Neca $9.99 blind bags, feel free to post a comment to let us all know what you found inside.
