Mill Creek Entertainment recently released the Daddy Daughter Trip (2022) DVD. Let's take a look at it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
Larry Buble (Rob Schneider), an ambitious yet penniless inventor, is struggling to keep his family eating and sleeping indoors. When he promises his eight-year-old daughter Meara (Miranda Scarlett Schneider) the spring break vacation of a lifetime, he is forced to get more inventive than ever before.
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The movie is presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 1:36:27. The movie has not been rated. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
All of the content listed below can be found on the DVD disc.
- Deleted Scenes - Listed separately are "No, I'm Not Peeing!" (0:58) and "Dog Walking Away" (0:48). Comedian Frank Caliendo appears in the second scene, and I think that may be David Spade's voice in the first.
- Extended Scenes - Listed separately are "Extended Farts" (3:03), "Food Truck" (1:45), "Gas Station" (1:42), "Petting Zoo" (2:30), and "More Grocery Shopping" (1:34).
- Bloopers/Outtakes (18:57)
- Interview with Rob Schneider (2:30)
- Original Music Video Featuring the Cast & Crew (1:57) - This is just clips of the cast and crew dancing around on set while some generic instrumental music plays. Not really a music video and, I suspect, not the original music they were dancing around to at the time of filming.
- Trailer (2:39)
No digital copy code voucher is included inside the standard one-disc black DVD case, but there is there a slipcover.
[ NOTES ]
Daddy Daughter Trip (2022), which is only available on DVD, is a hard film to recommend. Little kids will like Rob's goofy antics and the juvenile humor, but adults will not care much about the low-brow stuff (the fart scene, in particular), though they may get some perverse pleasure out of seeing Rob constantly being pummeled.
It should be noted that the movie is a Schneider Family vanity project. Rob Schneider is the director, producer, and star. His wife Patricia Maya Schneider plays Jeanine, the resort concierge. She also co-wrote and produced the movie. His daughter Miranda Scarlett Schneider plays his character's daughter, Meara. His youngest daughter Madeline Robbie Schneider is the little girl asking for her book to be autographed in the final scene. She also appears right before the end credits thanking the audience for watching the movie. Rob's oldest daughter, singer Elle King (birth name Tanner Schneider), appears as the farmer woman with her fiancee Dan Tooker. Elle also contributes the song "Told You So" to the movie.
Jackie Sandler, the wife of Rob's friend Adam Sandler, plays his character's wife, Megan. Further adding to the nepotism is that John Cleese's wife Camilla plays the airplane pilot near the end of the movie. John has a small role in the film as Frank, a guy wearing a VERY bad toupee who supposedly swindles Larry out of money. So, yeah...
Despite all of the nepotism, I thought Miranda was the best part of the movie. There was an earnestness to her performance that was lacking in the rest of the movie. She also bears an uncanny likeness to a young Madeline Zima, from around 1993 when she was on The Nanny.
