Mill Creek Entertainment recently released the I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) Steelbook Blu-ray. Let's take a look at it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
After an accident on a winding road, four teens (Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar , Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Ryan Phillippe) make the fatal mistake of dumping their victim's body into the sea. Exactly one year later, the dead man returns from his watery grave, and he's looking for more than an apology.
[ SPECIFICATIONS ]
The movie is presented in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with a runtime of 1:40:52. The movie has been rated R for strong horror violence and language. Audio languages include English. Subtitle languages include English SDH.
[ SPECIAL FEATURES ]
All of the content listed below can be found on the Blu-ray disc, though none of it is mentioned on the back of the packaging.
- I Know How Your Scored Last Summer (19:59) - A 2023 interview with composer John Debney.
No digital copy code voucher is included inside the beautiful Steelbook case, but there is there a clear plastic slipcover that adds the title and Fisherman (Muse Watson) over the front cover image of the teens.

The inside features the Fisherman on the left side, and a drowning victim on the right side (under the disc).

[ NOTES ]
The I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) Steelbook Blu-ray is currently a Walmart-exclusive. I do not know if it will be available at other retailers at a later date. While the movie is great, and the Steelbook packaging is beautiful, this is a hard one to completely recommend. The new interview with composer John Debney is nice, but NONE of the previously-released special features are included here. If you can do without the Steelbook and Debney interview, Sony's 4K + Blu-ray set, which I reviewed in October 2022, is the better option. Even if you can't play the 4K UHD disc (which has deleted scenes, and interviews with director Jim Gillespie and actor Muse Watson), you'll still have a Blu-ray disc that contains a commentary, vintage making of featurette, a music video, a trailer, and a short film. Obviously, if you don't care about extras, and absolutely love Steelbook packaging, this new release from Mill Creek is a good way to go.
Jennifer Love Hewett came back for a sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), which is available on 4K + Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD. The third film, I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006), which doesn't feature any of the original teens, is available on Blu-ray and DVD (alt url, alt url, alt url).
