Warner Brothers recently released the Contagion (2011) 4K UHD. Read on to find out more about it...
[ SYNOPSIS ]
When Beth Emhoff (Gwyneth Paltrow) returns to Minneapolis from business in Hong Kong, what she thought was jet lag takes a virulent turn. Two days later, she's dead in the ER and the doctors tell her shocked and grieving husband (Matt Damon) they have no idea why. Soon, others exhibit the same mysterious symptoms: hacking coughs and fever, followed by seizure, brain hemorrhage... and ultimately, death. The numbers quickly multiply as the contagion sweeps across all borders, fueled by the countless human interactions that make up the course of an average day. A global pandemic explodes. As the death toll escalates and people struggle to protect themselves and their loved ones in a society breaking down, one activist blogger (Jude Law) claims the public isn't getting the truth about what's really going on and sets off an epidemic of paranoia and fear as infectious as the virus itself.

[ NOTES ]
Contagion (2011) is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Each disc is sold separately, there are no Combo Pack releases for this title, unfortunately. I really wish Warners would go back to producing the 4K+Blu-ray Combo Packs.
When this movie was first released back in 2011, it seemed like Hollywood fiction. Now in 2024, it is a sad reminder of a reality we all faced four years ago. That said, it is still a top-notch thriller and very much worth watching. The only negatives I have about this new 4K UHD release is the lack of a Blu-ray disc and that horrible cover art. Do we really need a face mask as cover art? Maybe if they chose to do what was done for the Mask of the Ninja DVD, in which the slipcover was the "mask" (with a cut-out area for the eyes) that went over the ninja's face on the DVD cover underneath.
